What happens in a reading?
I’ll ask about your name, what problems or questions are bringing you to our session together, and then I’ll shuffle my cards, draw a few cards, and answer the question.
Do I need to bring anything or anyone?
Just yourself! If you like to take notes, bring a pen and paper. I read for clients one on one, so if you and a partner or friend have booked back to back, feel free to have them wander about or go for a coffee until you’re done and vice versa.
Do I need a question?
In a word, yes! I liken my divination practice to spiritual investigation. If I’m shining a light on the roses, but you’re worried about what’s wrong with the tomatoes, it would be helpful to start there! You don’t need to bring a fully formed question; you’re more than welcome to bring what I call A Bag of Stuff. I also find that articulating a concern or desire out loud can make the nature of the problem clearer.
Well, what can I ask you?
Anything you like, but I reserve the right to refuse to read for a particular question. I will not draw cards for other people, e.g. “What is this person thinking about me?” I will read about a connection between yourself and another person. Your session should be about you and your path. Asking the cards about other people who haven’t asked for lies outside my own ethic as a reader. It’s also a waste of our time together.
What’s your approach to Tarot?
Tarot for myself is very much a divination system, used for forecasting or spiritual investigation. I appreciate more psychological approaches to Tarot and find them both interesting and enriching to my practice, but it’s not how I initially approach a question.
On that note, please don’t book me instead of your doctor or therapist! If you do, I will send you back to them post-haste.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Life happens! If you’ve given me 48 hours’ notice, you’ll get a full refund. Outwith that, you’ll need to book a session for another date and time.
Anything else?
I will repeat that I am not a therapist, doctor, lawyer, or accountant. Detailed, non-esoteric questions about these subjects should be referred to the relevant experts — I can answer why you’re blocked on an energetic level, but I’m not the woman to ask about budgeting! On that note, I am bound by UK law to state that Tarot readings are for entertainment purposes.
